Carey Mahone (Guttenberg) always seems to get himself into trouble and is sent to the police academy as a form of punishment and rectification. The Chief of Police realises that a bunch of misfits have signed up in the academy and orders Commandant Lassard (Gaynes) that the training should make these misfits want to leave the academy since they cant be thrown out. Lt. Harris (Bailey) in faced with the daunting task of training the most diverse group of eccentrics ever. From a sex-obsessed Spaniard and a blundering geek to a an over-enthusiastic army man and an over-weight sissy, he sees them all. The movie is a fun watch and gives you more than once occasion to laugh. It does not have the roll over your seat humour but yet makes the movie a pleasurable watch.
Thumbs up: Nice plot
Thumbs down: A bit more humour perhaps
