An amalgamation of two true life stories brought together in one book, later made into a movie. Julia Child (Streep) lived in Paris, France with her husband Paul (Tucci). Julia could never cook and was bored with her life. In order to pass her time she started taking cooking seriously and soon realised that cooking was her hidden passion. She later went on to publish a book in the United States titled, 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' which aimed at teaching 'servantless' housewives to cook French food. Fast forward, Julie Powell (Adams), is facing the same dilemma that Julia did and she too resorts to cooking. She creates a blog, The Julie/Julia Project where in one year she masters all of Julia's recipes. She sees a lot of Julia Child in her and the cooking starts eating into her job and married life. Her cooking brings her fame and soon she is hounded by journalists, producers and food critiques who are all vying for her recipes. The movie has no fundamental storyline and keeps movie back and forth in time showing both Julia and Julia both trying to learn and master French cooking. The art of cooking displayed in the movie would simply makes ones mouth drool and every youngster would die for a wife like Julie. Fabulous performances but the story was a little stretched and gets a bit repetitive towards the end.
